About this file

This document is a confidentiality claim form that allows contractors or private providers to identify protected records or information submitted to the Utah State Archives. The form can be used to claim that trade secrets or commercial financial information submitted should be classified as confidential and protected from public disclosure, as described in the Utah Government Records Access and Management Act (GRAMA). The claimant must provide a concise statement of reasons supporting the confidentiality claim and submit it along with the records or information to the governmental entity receiving the submission. The confidentiality claim does not guarantee protected classification if the governmental entity receives a public records request.

The document also references a state and local contract opportunity issued by the Utah Department of Public Safety for Blood Alcohol Collection Kits. No additional details about this contract opportunity are provided in the confidentiality claim form.

Business Request for GRAMA Business Confidentiality Claim use by contractors or private providers to identify protected records or information

Note: Utah Code § 63G-2-305(1) states that trade secrets can be protected if the person submitting the trade secret provides the governmental entity with a confidentiality claim. Likewise, Utah Code § 63G-2-305(2) states that commercial financial information can be protected if disclosure could reasonably be expected to result in unfair competitive injury to the person submitting the information, and that person has provided a confidentiality claim. Confidentiality claims are described in Utah Code § 63G-2-309. A claim must include a concise statement of reasons supporting the claim and must be submitted with the information requested to be protected.
