About this file
This is a sewer atlas map document supporting a progressive design-build procurement issued by the City of Bradenton in partnership with the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection for Lift Station 8 relocation and collection system improvements in Manatee County, Florida. The project scope encompasses the design and construction of a replacement lift station facility at 1302 4th Avenue West, Bradenton, Florida 34205, featuring an upsized lined wet well, new pumps, upsized discharge piping, and all necessary electrical and instrumentation components. The City has established a non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting scheduled for March 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., with a question submission deadline of March 25, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., and proposal submissions due April 1, 2026, by 2:30 p.m. Short-listed proposers will present on April 28, 2026, with a notice of recommended award anticipated April 29, 2026, and contract award expected May 27, 2026. The City targets Phase 1 completion by July 1, 2027, with evaluation criteria weighted toward ability of professional personnel (35 percent), proposer's past performance and experience (40 percent), and project approach including management techniques and timeline (25 percent).
Qualified proposers must be either a Certified General Contractor or Certified Utility Contractor licensed by the State of Florida, with at least one key personnel member holding a current Professional Engineer license, and preferably demonstrate experience with at least three sanitary sewer lift station installation projects within the past ten years. The total project budget is $2,000,000 in state funding with no match requirement from the City, allocated across preconstruction activities ($600,000), bidding and contractor selection ($50,000), project management ($350,000), and construction ($1,000,000), though construction costs cannot exceed $7,500,000. The project is funded through the Statewide Water Quality Restoration Projects appropriation category under a cost reimbursement agreement structure with monthly invoicing permitted for eligible expenses. All proposers must comply with Florida Statutes Chapter 287 regarding procurement, maintain specified insurance coverage with the City named as additional insured, comply with E-Verify requirements, and obtain various state certifications including drug-free workplace and scrutinized companies certifications. No incumbent vendors or current contractors are identified for this engagement.
