About this file
This document is a Purchase Description for a ChipCHECK Model CC121 Portable Debris Analysis System for the Army Oil Analysis Program (AOAP) at Redstone Arsenal, AL. The system is designed to simultaneously count, measure, and analyze the size, shape, and chemical composition of metallic particles extracted from engine or gearbox chip collectors. The procurement includes one complete system with specific components such as a debris analysis unit, custom sample trays and patches, calibration standards, power accessories, a comprehensive material reference library covering numerous alloys and base elements, and an 8-hour virtual training session for up to 8 attendees.
The acquisition supports the Army's objective of rapidly identifying potential maintenance issues in aircraft by providing a deployable elemental analysis instrument. The system's software-based material reference library enables AOAP laboratory technicians to quickly generate maintenance recommendations, ultimately reducing mean time to repair (MTTR) and improving operational aircraft availability while mitigating mission risk. The system is identified by NSN 6650-01-665-6490 and will be shipped FOB Destination to the AOAP laboratory at Redstone Arsenal, with a standard 12-month warranty included.
