About this file

This document is a Change Order Notice issued by the Chief Procurement Office General Services for the State of Illinois. The notice details a change order to increase the not-to-exceed (NTE) amount of an existing contract with Layne Christensen Company for D8 Submersible Pumps Maintenance & Repairs. The original contract, B-20133/P-24992, was inadvertently bid and awarded as a total amount for the initial term, when the estimates should have been reflected as a single year expenditure. The District has expended all funds from this contract to date, and this change order will increase the NTE amount by $14,000 for a new NTE total of $159,557.92 to allow services to continue while the agency puts a new solicitation out for bid to reflect the correct service usage.

The change order is requested in accordance with the Illinois Procurement Code and Administrative Rules, which require notice of renegotiated contracts and change orders that increase the cost of a contract by more than $10,000 or the time of completion by a total of 30 days or more to be posted for 14 days. The circumstances necessitating this change order were not reasonably foreseeable at the time the original contract was signed, and the change is germane to the original contract as signed.
