About this file
This document is a Change Order Notice issued by the Chief Procurement Office for General Services in Illinois. It details an amendment to Contract P-422 MC Ficek Telecom Maintenance, Equipment & Services between the Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology and Ficek Electric & Communication Systems, Inc. The amendment increases the maximum allowable spend on the contract by $6,000,000 to cover a significant increase in requests for telecom maintenance, equipment, and services from various state agencies. These requests include over 238 jobs totaling $59,743,000 in spending, as well as initiatives to install wireless access points in 33 state prison facilities and support moves to new buildings requiring rewiring and wireless access point installation.
The increased spending request is attributed to unforeseen agency initiatives and projects that were not readily shared with the Department of Innovation and Technology until services were requested. The amendment will allow the Department to pay for current projects to completion and clear the backlog of $500,000 in projects awaiting funding. The contract remains an agency-specific agreement between the Department of Innovation and Technology and Ficek Electric & Communication Systems, Inc.

| thedetails: The Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology requests a change order for the Agency Specific Contract with Ficek Electric & Communication Systems for contract # P-422 MC Ficek Telecom Maintenance, Equipment & Services to increase the maximum allowable spend on the contract. The Agency experienced a large amount of projects requested by DoIT supported agencies; there were over (238) jobs with a spend of $59,743,000. In addition, there were moves to new buildings that required rewiring and installation of wireless access points and camera from multiple agencies. There is also a Department of Correction initiative to install wireless access points in (33) State prison facilities to implement Electronic Health Care services to inmates using WIFI. The Agency currently has $5,528,277 worth of active projects with another $500,000 on hold awaiting funding. The Agency requests an increase of $6,000,000 to allow the Agency to pay for current projects to completion and to clear the projects on hold. |
The increased request for services on the master contract could not have been foreseen due to each agencies having their own initiative projects which are not readily shared with DoIT until they request the wiring services or support.
