About this file
This document is a Change Order Notice issued by the Illinois Chief Procurement Office General Services regarding a contract for the Repair and Maintenance of Weigh-In Motion Scales. The contract has been renegotiated to increase the spending by $120,000 to cover an unanticipated, large-scale project planned for District 2. The change order was deemed necessary due to the depletion of the original contract's spending allowance, and it is advantageous for the Department of Transportation to utilize the existing contract rather than solicit a new request.
The pricing terms and funding details are not provided, though the document states the circumstances necessitating the change were not reasonably foreseeable at the time the original contract was signed, and the change is germane to the original contract. No other salient information regarding the contract, such as set-asides, incumbents, or the contract term, is included in this Change Order Notice.

Change Order Notice Chief Procurement Office General Services v.20.1
44 Ill. Adm. Code 1.1525(h) requires notice of renegotiated contracts and change orders that increase the cost of a contract by more than $10,000 or the time of completion by a total of 30 days or more to be posted on the Bulletin/BidBuy for 14 days.
This Change Order Notice provides detail as to why the change order is needed and, pursuant to Section 33E-9 of the Criminal Code, that the circumstances said to necessitate the change in performance were not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed or the change is germane to the original contract as signed. Change orders are defined by Section 1-15.12 of the Procurement Code and Section 1.2067 of the CPO-GS' Administrative Rules.

| thedetails: At the time the contract was established, the funding was adequate to cover anticipated needs based on existing funding. However, an unanticipated, large scale project now planned for District 2 will deplete the spending allowed under the contract. It is advantageous to the Department to utilize the existing contract rather than to solicit the requested improvement. |
