About this file

This document is a Design Narrative for the SORTA Access Control System Alterations project in Cincinnati, Ohio, dated September 25, 2024. The project involves a comprehensive update of the existing electronic access control systems across multiple SORTA facilities, including the Huntington Center, Queensgate Facility, Bond Hill Facility, Access Facility, Riverfront Transit Center, Northside Transit Center, and Glenway Crossing Transit Center. The scope of work includes pre-testing existing access control devices, replacing door controllers and card readers with Genetec-compatible equipment, migrating existing access control databases into SORTA's Genetec Security Center version 5.12, and providing badging workstations with cameras and printers for each facility.

The project requires an Electronic Security Systems Integrator who is a Certified Genetec Channel Partner with at least 5 years of integration experience and 2 years of equipment installation certification. The integrator must conduct pre-tests at each facility, document any equipment or wiring issues, replace controllers and readers, and coordinate closely with SORTA's Security and IT teams to minimize operational disruptions. As a bid alternate, the integrator is requested to provide a five-year maintenance proposal including preventative maintenance and firmware updates. The project includes comprehensive closeout requirements such as record drawings, operations and maintenance manuals, and warranty certificates, with all documentation subject to SORTA Project Manager review and approval.
