About this file
This technical specifications document is from the Seminole County Environmental Services Department for the Greenwood Lakes Water Reclamation Facility Hypochlorite Tank Replacement Project (CIP 00227409). The project involves disconnecting, removing, and disposing of three existing 2,500-gallon vertical sodium hypochlorite bulk storage tanks and installing three new double-walled polypropylene tanks with associated appurtenances. The contractor will be responsible for pump down, temporary storage, transfer of sodium hypochlorite, installation of new tanks, piping, leak testing, and coordination with county staff. The contract duration is sixty (60) calendar days for substantial completion, with final completion seven (7) days after substantial completion, and work will be performed under the jurisdiction of a licensed wastewater treatment plant operator.
The project is competitively bid through Seminole County's Purchasing and Contracts Division, with bid documents available on their procurement website. The engineer's estimated project value is $135,000. Contractors are required to have similar project experience within the past five years and must follow specific installation, safety, and quality control requirements. The new tanks must be manufactured by Houston PolyTank to match existing equipment, with specific technical specifications including 2,500-gallon capacity, 12% sodium hypochlorite service, and outdoor installation. Minority and women-owned businesses (M/WBEs) are encouraged to participate, and all communication must be directed through the Purchasing and Contracts Division to maintain procurement integrity.
