About this file
This Statement of Work (SOW) details carpet replacement requirements for Building 408 at Moody Air Force Base in Georgia for the Drug Demand Reduction (DDR) department. The project involves comprehensive carpet installation services, including moving furniture, removing existing carpet, installing new carpet tiles from one of seven approved vendors (such as Interface Americas, Mohawk, and Engineered Floors), installing rubber cove base, and adding door transitions. The contractor must follow Air Force Carpet Program guidelines, use certified floor covering installers, and complete the work within two weeks of contract award, primarily during non-standard hours like weekends or holidays.
Key technical specifications include installing 1/8" thick, 4" high rubber cove base, providing 15% extra carpet tiles, ensuring proper furniture relocation, and meeting specific safety and cleaning requirements. The installation must preserve manufacturer warranties, comply with carpet installation standards, and include a one-year workmanship warranty. The project requires detailed coordination with the government representative (Mrs. Onjel Gambrell), submission of work schedules, and careful handling of office furniture, with work to be performed outside normal duty hours to minimize disruption to building occupants.
