STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW)

Submarine Launched Unmanned Aerial System (SLUAS) Canister Integration and De-integration Services

1.0 Background

The Submarine Launched Unmanned Aerial System (SLUAS) Program falls under the cognizance of Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport (NUWCDIVNPT) Code 25. In FY15, the Advanced Weapons Enhanced by Submarine Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Against Mobile Targets (AWESUM) Project developed a low cost, submarine launched Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) capability and successfully demonstrated a submarine 3-inch launcher compatible micro-UAS capability. The AWESUM Project demonstrated SLUAS capabilities at sea supporting JREAPC (Link 16 over IP) for Over the Horizon strike and third-party targeting.

The SLUAS program transitioned to PMS 425 in FY17 with the goal of accelerated deployment of the SLUAS capability followed by integration of SLUAS functionality into the AN/BYG-1 Submarine Combat Control System under the present Middle Tier of Acquisition (MTA) agreement. In FY22, SLUAS program transitioned to PMS415 to better utilize 3” launched device expertise and continue the rapid fielding mission to the fleet. As the custodian of the SLUAS Program at NUWCDIVNPT, Code 25 facilitates the shipping, integration, and de-integration of the Blackwing 10C UAV into the 3” Hammerhead Canister. In order to meet Fleet demands, NUWCDIVNPT Code 25 requires integration and de-integration services.
