About this file

This is a Cancellation Notice for a Request for Proposals issued by the Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) for digital license plates. The original solicitation (SPD-SPR014, Solicitation No. 47400-DOR0000123) was posted on July 6, 2022, and sought a qualified supplier to provide digital license plates in accordance with Georgia Code 40-2-33. The electronic display solution was designed to present information equivalent to a metal license plate and be displayed on the rear of a vehicle as a replacement for traditional metal plates. The solicitation was cancelled on December 16, 2022, by Issuing Officer Vanessa Walker.

The cancellation was issued to allow additional time for the DOR and interested companies to complete required vetting activities for the desired technology. DOR anticipates rebidding the project within six to twelve months following the cancellation date, with any future bidding opportunity to be publicly published on the Georgia Procurement Registry. Materials submitted under the current solicitation will remain closed until a Notice of Intent to Award is issued for the subsequent solicitation, at which point records will be made available in accordance with Section I.6 of the Georgia Procurement Manual. All suppliers will be required to respond to new bid forms and requirements for consideration of award in any future solicitation.
