About this file
This is a Request for Information (RFI) from the Department of the Army's Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Fires for a Common Autonomous Multi-Domain Launcher (CAML) Weapon System Integrator (WSI). The RFI seeks U.S. companies with systems integration experience to integrate separately procured autonomous mobility platforms and munitions pallets into a complete CAML system. The system is an autonomous/optionally crewed, highly mobile, air-transportable multi-domain fires launcher that supports autonomous convoy modes and aims to augment or replace existing Army launchers.
Interested companies are requested to submit a six-page capability statement by December 15, 2025, at noon central time. The RFI outlines desired capabilities including system-level engineering, interface requirement management, system architecture development, test and evaluation management, and logistics support. An industry day is planned for January 21-22, 2026. The scope involves integrating and testing a complete CAML system within 18 months of contract award, with non-traditional participation encouraged. Responses should detail company capabilities, experience with similar projects, expertise in areas like rapid prototyping, classified information management, and work with fire control systems, missiles, and vehicles.

MEMORANDUM FOR INDUSTRY
SUBJECT: The Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE) Fires Common Autonomous Multi- Domain Launcher (CAML) Product Office Request for Information (RFI) – Weapon System Integrator
THIS IS AN RFI NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP).
NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.
The PAE Fires CAML Product Office seeks information on potential sources that could provide the necessary technical skills, facilities, tooling, and personnel to serve as a Weapon System Integrator (WSI) for CAML. The WSI will conduct sub-system integration of separately procured autonomous mobility platforms and munitions pallets to build the CAML system.
Interested parties are asked to submit a capability statement to showcase their relevant experience and capabilities and help the Government shape future phases of the CAML acquisition strategy.
All submitting parties are requested to participate in an industry day for CAML, to be held in-person in January 2026 (tentatively planned for 21-22 JAN 2026, subject to change). The purpose of this industry day is to identify industry partners and capabilities to develop CAML, or components of CAML, and to communicate with industry the Army’s overarching intent for the CAML effort. More information regarding the upcoming industry day will be provided to interested parties.
1. Overview
a. CAML is an autonomous/optionally crewed, highly mobile, air-transportable, multi-domain fires launcher with the potential to augment or replace existing Army launchers.
CAML supports autonomous convoy modes by following a manned leader vehicle.
CAML reduces emplacement and displacement times, provides improved crew survivability, reloads rapidly, adds cross-country mobility, increases overall effectiveness, and is capable of worldwide deployment and operations.
b. The scope of this effort is to integrate and test a complete CAML system no later than 18 months from contract award.
c. Each CAML system will include an autonomous mobility platform; a munitions pallet and associated launcher electronics; a leader vehicle equipped with an autonomy leader kit for convoy operations; and a vehicle autonomy command and control (C2) system. (These sub-systems will be developed under separate efforts).
d. Sub-system components will be either Government Furnished Property (GFP) or directed vendor procured.
2. Desired Capabilities
a. Conduct system-level systems engineering activities, including requirements analysis and management of interfaces between the autonomy mobility platform and the munitions pallet.
b. Define and document interface requirements for sub-systems and ensure traceability of requirements throughout the integration process.
c. Develop a high-level system architecture, including sub-system interactions, ensuring compatibility between the autonomy mobility platform and the munitions pallet.
d. Manage test and evaluation activities to complete system-level verification.
e. Manage decomposition to meet system requirements and CONOP for a modular, open system solution.
f. Ensure size, weight, and power (SWAP) ratios meet system operational requirements.
g. Facilitate and manage logistics and sustainment activities for up to five years.
3. Response Guidelines
a. Request interested parties respond to this RFI with a capability statement that describes the contractor’s ability to meet the requirements described in Paragraph 1 above. Submissions cannot exceed six (6) pages, single-spaced, 12-point Arial or Times New Roman font with at least one-inch margins on 8 1/2” X 11” page size. A fold-out page counts as one page. Tables, drawings and header/footer information shall be 10-point Arial font or larger.
b. Complete and partial capabilities will be accepted.
c. The Government anticipates the receipt of UNCLASSIFIED capability statements in response to this RFI; however, if the offeror believes classified data is necessary to present a contractor's past performance and/or approach, then a written request must be presented to the Agreements Officer (AO) within 5 calendar days of receipt of this RFI. If approved by the AO, then a separate written classified annex may be included in the capability statement. This annex may not exceed the classification of collateral SECRET and must be delivered in accordance with the 32 CFR Part 2117, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM). Capability statements shall not contain any information above SECRET or contain any restrictive markings (e.g., special access program (SAP), NATO, CNWDI, WNTEL, etc.). The CONFIDENTIAL marking is reserved as a security marking in accordance with AR 380-5 and the NISPOM and shall not be used as a marking for company proprietary information. The Government review team reserves the right to request further clarification to enhance our understanding of the respondent's submittal.
d. Interested sources responding to this RFI must be U.S. companies that have demonstrated experience in systems integration, specifically in the incorporation of sub-systems into system-of-systems final products. Additionally, vendors should possess robust engineering, production, and quality assurance processes to ensure the successful delivery of integrated solutions.
e. Non-traditional participation is encouraged at both the prime and subcontractor level.
f. Information from submitted capability statements will be taken into consideration for any future solicitation efforts.
g. At a minimum, responses to this RFI must address the following:
(1) Company Capability
• Briefly describe the capabilities of your company and the nature of the goods and/or services you provide. Include a description of your relevant products and services, and experience in systems engineering and integration across relevant domains related to CAML, as well as your processes and facilities that would support an effort of this scope.
• Describe your ability to facilitate collaboration among diverse teams, including sub-system vendors, stakeholders, and end users.
• Describe your ability to provide ongoing support and maintenance for the integrated system post-deployment, and your capability to manage logistics related to the integration process, including supply chain management and resource allocation.
• The number of CAML systems your company could integrate and test in 18 months from contract award.
