About this file

The document is a Darfur Contracting Act Vendor Certification form issued by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE). The form is designed to ensure vendors comply with Public Contract Code Section 10475-10481, which requires companies with business activities outside the United States within the previous three years to certify they are not a "scrutinized company" doing business in Sudan.

The certification requires vendors to choose one of three options: (1) confirm no business activities outside the United States in the past three years, (2) provide written permission from the Department of General Services to submit a bid despite being a scrutinized company, or (3) certify they are not a scrutinized company while having recent international business operations. Vendors must complete the form with company information, initials, and potentially a signed certification under penalty of perjury. The form defines a "scrutinized company" as one involved in specific activities in Sudan, with several exceptions for humanitarian, health, educational, and certain contractual operations.
