About this file
This document is a General Decision (Wage Determination) CA20260018 issued by the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division, establishing prevailing wage rates for federal construction contracts in California, effective January 30, 2026. The determination covers building, heavy (heavy and dredging), and highway construction projects across 16 California counties: Alameda, Calaveras, Contra Costa, Fresno, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, San Francisco, San Joaquin, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne.
The wage determination establishes hourly wage rates and fringe benefit percentages for numerous construction classifications organized by county and geographic area. Key trades include asbestos removal workers ($34.56–$44.73 base rate with 11.40–12.75% fringes), asbestos workers/insulators ($64.56–$84.76 with 25.07% fringes), boilermakers, marble finishers, bricklayers, terrazzo workers, carpenters, divers, electricians, elevator mechanics, ironworkers, laborers (multiple classifications), painters, plumbers, roofers, sheet metal workers, and truck drivers. Rates vary significantly by county and work type, with some classifications receiving additional premiums for hazardous conditions, high-altitude work, saturation diving, or specialized equipment operation. The determination includes detailed laborer classifications (construction craft, tunnel and shaft, gunite, wrecking) with corresponding wage differentials. All rates include base hourly wages and fringe benefit percentages, with some positions featuring additional premiums for specific work conditions or locations. This prevailing wage determination applies to all federal construction contracts in the specified California counties and supersedes prior determination CA20250018.
