About this file
This is a Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) for a competitive acquisition of the C26-090 Moog Valve for the United States Air Force.
The Air Force is conducting market research to identify potential sources capable of providing the Moog valve (Part Number 72049100) or a functionally equivalent component under NAICS Code 334513 and FSC Code 6685. The requirement is being competed as "Brand Name or Equal" to maximize competition. Potential sources must provide a component that serves as a direct drop-in replacement for the Moog P/N 72049100 without modification to existing USAF infrastructure, maintains identical pressure ratings, flow rates, and response times as the OEM component, is fully compatible with existing hydraulic and electronic control systems, and meets all relevant aerospace and Department of War safety and performance standards. Written responses must be submitted no later than close of business on 4 May 2026 to Mark Todd at mark.todd.7@us.af.mil. The document requests business information including company name, CAGE code, Unique Entity ID, contact information, business size classification under NAICS 334513, and socioeconomic status (Small Business, WOSB, SDB, 8(a), HUBZone, VOSB, SDVOSB). Respondents must indicate whether they are the OEM, an authorized Moog distributor, or proposing an equal component, and if proposing an equal, must provide technical data demonstrating form, fit, function equivalence and direct drop-in capability. The survey also requests information on quality certifications (AS9100, ISO 9001), production lead times, capacity constraints, established market prices, warranty terms, and commercial availability. Both large and small businesses are encouraged to participate, and joint ventures and teaming arrangements are encouraged. The government will not reimburse participants for survey expenses, and participation does not guarantee future solicitation or award involvement.
