About this file

This is a Questions & Answers document issued by the California Department of Parks and Recreation, Administrative Services, Training Section for contract C24067004 regarding Modular Building Rental at Huntington State Beach. The document addresses seven key questions about the modular building specifications, including clarification that 24x40 and 12x40 units are acceptable alternatives to the originally specified 24x44 and 12x44 sizes, as they provide the same interior square footage. VCT tile flooring is deemed acceptable in lieu of carpet if it is neutral in color and in good condition. The document also details electrical requirements and confirms the location of the existing electrical pedestal in the parking lot.

The document includes specific technical requirements for electrical connections, noting that a contractor must provide an additional AMP Panel to split power between the two modular buildings. It details that the 24x44 unit will use the existing electrical pedestal while Additive Alternate #3 covers the 12x40 unit's connection to a MULTI PANEL LOADED system with specific breaker and cable requirements. The document includes aerial imagery showing the location of the electrical pedestal in the parking lot and photos of the existing Leviton electrical panel boxes (CAT. NO.4100MI12W) with on/off switches.

Modular Building Rental C24067004 Questions and Answers

1.) I see an incorrect requirement on page 32 of the bidder's checklist, in the bid booklet which asks for a "Copy of current California State License Board license: C-16, Fire Protection Contractor." This requirement may need revision. Yes, this is an error, and this section has been crossed out and addressed in Addenda #1. These requirements were accidently left in this section and do not apply.

2.) The RFB specifies a 24x44 size, which sometimes includes the hitch. Would a 24x40 be acceptable for this project? (Please see the attached floor plan for reference.) Yes, it's the same interior square footage as shown on the floor plan samples in the bid instruction booklet.

3.) Similarly, the RFB specifies a 12x44 size. Would a 12x40 be acceptable in this case?

(Attached is the corresponding floor plan for review.) Yes, it's the same interior square footage as shown on the floor plan samples in the bid instruction booklet.

4.) The RFB mentions carpet for all units. Our single-wide units typically come with VCT tile as a standard feature. Would this be acceptable, or is carpet required for all units?

Carpet is desirable to eliminate noise from walking, but willing to except VCT tile, so long as it is a neutral color, and floor is in good condition.

5.) Where is the existing electrical pedestal onsite? It is located in the parking lot near where the modulars will be set up. (see attached close up of existing location map)

6.) Can you clarify Roman numeral nine on the inclusions and confirm the onsite electrical scope being required? Contractor will need to have an additional AMP Panel to split the power from the power pedestal to connect to the 2 modular buildings. United rentals were contracted in the past and they supplied the following to set up the power: MULTI PANEL LOADED WITH (3) 125AMP BREAKERS with 3 241/4166 BREAKER

ENCLOSED 150A/600V, 241/8010 CABLE BANDED 5 WIRE 50' 241/5950 CABLE TAIL

#2 MCAM BARE END, 241/5955 CABLE TAIL #2 FCAM BARE END.

7.) Add alternate three appears to only include the hook up for the 12X40 unit, will the 24X40 unit need to be hooked up as well? Both will need power, but Additive Alternate #3 is only for the 12x40 to be hooked into the MULTI PANEL LOADED WITH (3) 125AMP BREAKERS with 3 241/4166 BREAKER ENCLOSED 150A/600V, 241/8010

CABLE BANDED 5 WIRE 50' 241/5950 CABLE TAIL #2 MCAM BARE END, 241/5955

CABLE TAIL #2 FCAM BARE END.

The 24X44 unit will use existing electrical pedestal that is located in the parking lot onsite at Huntington State Beach.
