Specification

Line 10: USGS Type AA-Magnetic Head Current Meter, 3 Each.

The Price meter, a cup-type instrument with a vertical axis, was developed by USGS and is commonly used for irrigation water measurement. This meter has the following general features: vanes to keep the front of the meter headed into the current, either a cable or a rod for handling the meter, weights for sinking the meter when it is suspended on a cable, an electric device for signaling and/or counting the number of revolutions, and connections from the current meter to a 12-volt battery-powered headphone. Manufactured in accordance with:

https://www.usbr.gov/tsc/techreferences/mands/wmm/WMM_3rd_2001.pdf

Line 20: Pygmy type Magnetic Head Current Meter, 2 Each.

The pygmy cup wheel is 2 in in diameter, compared with 5 in for conventional Price meters.

Thus, the pygmy meter can measure velocities closer to flow boundaries. The contact chamber is an integral part of the yoke and contains a single revolution contact only. The meter has no tailpiece, and no provision is made for cable suspension. The rotational speed of the pygmy meter cup wheel is more than twice that of Price meters.

Manufactured in accordance with:

Line 30: AquaCalc Pro Plus handheld, 2 Each.

Compatible with all impulse or “click” type current meters including Price AA and Pygmy type current meters (Pre-programmed with USGS standard Current Meters: Price AA, Pygmy), Accepts non-standard and custom meter ratings, Stores 30 complete cross sections, with 99 vertical measurements for each cross section, 16 line LCD display, At least

Eight (8) hours of battery life with a battery meter and low battery warning. The NiMh AA rechargeable batteries can be replaced without loss of data. On-board memory backup.

Rod-mount equipped. Water resistant (IP65) ABS enclosure with protective display lens and case seals. Dimensions: 3.9” X 7.7” X 1.5”, Weight: 1.1 lbs., Operating Temperature: -15C to

50C

Line 40: USGS TopSet Wading Rod, 3 Each.

4 ft. The top-setting wading rod permits all settings to be made in the dry and has a main column of 2-in hexagonal stock and a meter positioning rod of d-in-diameter stock. The main rod attaches to the baseplate and is graduated in 0.1-ft intervals so depth of flow can be measured. Interval markings are the same as those used on common wading rods. The meter is secured to the lower end of the positioning rod and guided by means of a support that slides on the main rod.

Line 60: USGS A-55 Sounding Reel, 2 Each.

T Type A-55, Sounding Reel is used to position stream gauging and sample collection equipment. The reel is used with weights up to 100 pounds (45 kg) and holds 75 feet (22.9

m) of 0.10-inch (0.25cm) cable. The reel can be mounted on Type A and Type E cranes, the bridge board, the sit-down or stand-up cable car, and the boat boom assembly. Type A-55 reel is equipped with a USGS-type computing depth indicator and in English units. The computing depth indicator has a main dial graduated in feet or meters and tenths of a foot and decimeters. The numbered inner dial shows total depth. The main dial has a graduated spiral to indicate directly the 0.8 depth position. Additionally, each reel is equipped with a removable crank, 0.10-inch (0.25 cm) cable and electrical connections for two-conductor cables; and comes in a carrying case for ease of transporting from site to site. The reel is supplied with a pressed sleeve connector.
