About this file

This is a Software Line Item Pricing Template designed for federal software procurement tracking and reporting. The spreadsheet provides a standardized format for documenting software purchases made by the Department of Agriculture Forest Service under solicitation 12760427Q0010 for Kaleidoscope Pro Software. The template includes 50 line items for software acquisitions, with fields capturing vendor information (name, contact, email, phone), purchase dates, software manufacturer details, period of performance dates, product specifications (name, part number, version), licensing metrics, quantities, unit rates, and total pricing. All 50 rows currently display zero dollar values, indicating this is a blank template awaiting population with actual procurement data.

The template establishes comprehensive data collection requirements across multiple licensing categories and metrics, including authorized users, concurrent users, device licenses, floating licenses, named users, per-core licensing, per-processor licensing, and subscription-based models. Required fields demand vendor and contact information verification, specification of whether licenses are perpetual (one-time purchase), subscription-based (annual renewal required), or maintenance-based arrangements, and documentation of the software manufacturer and specific product solutions. The template includes detailed field descriptions and a comprehensive list of 35+ license metric types to accommodate various software licensing methodologies. Additionally, Oracle-specific fields such as CSI (Customer Support Identifier) numbers are included to support enterprise software procurement tracking and compliance requirements.

Perpetual, Subscription or MaintenanceTextYesIndicate if perpetual (own and pay for maintenance) , subscription (leased software without maintenance costs) or maintenance (maintenance on a perpetual license). Perpetual is a license the USDA would own and would be a one-time purchase. There are some perpetual licenses that have an annual maintenance fee. Perpetual license versions are usually the version at purchase. If an upgrade was needed it would require an additional purchase, or upgrades could be covered by maintenance. Subscription licenses require the subscription to be paid every year in order to use the software. If the subscription is not paid the software would cease to function. Perpetual license would continue to work for as long as the software is installed.

Authorized UserAn Authorized User is a unique person who is given access to the Program. The Program may be installed on any number of computers or servers and each Authorized User may have simultaneous access to any number of instances of the Program at one time. Licensee must obtain separate, dedicated entitlements for each Authorized User given access to the Program in any manner directly or indirectly (for example: via a multiplexing program, device, or application server) through any means. An entitlement for an Authorized User is unique to that Authorized User and may not be shared, nor may it be reassigned other than for the permanent transfer of the Authorized User entitlement to another person.
Authorized User Value UnitLicenses the number of select users who are granted access to an IBM software product.
Concurrent UserLicenses the number of simultaneous users accessing the program.
Device CALLicenses the number of device client access licenses to server software.
Employee User Value UnitLicenses the total number of users within your organization who are granted access to an IBM software product.
External User Value UnitLicenses the total number of users outside your organization who are granted access to an IBM software product.
FloatingShares and manages a pool of software among users or devices on a network. Checks out a license when a user or device requests access to the software. If at the peak of license consumption, there is no license left, the user or device is denied access to the software. Rights consumed is based on the peak number of licenses checked out during the specified period of time.
Named User PlusLicenses the physical host.
NetworkShares and manages a pool of licenses among users or devices within a specified TCP/IP network. Checks out a license when a user or device requests access to the software. If at the peak of license consumption, there is no license left, the user or device is denied access to the software. Rights consumed is based on the peak number of licenses checked out during the specified period of time.
Per Application InstanceLicenses per application instance.
Per CoreLicenses cores on a physical server or virtual machine.
Per Core (with CAL)Licenses physical servers. The number of licenses depends on the number of installs and Operating System Environments (OSE)s.
Per DeviceLicenses a device for the number of installations of software.
Per Named DeviceLicenses a specific device for the number of installations of software.
Per Named UserLicenses a specific user for the number of installations of software.
Per OSILicenses any server, virtual or physical, with an IP address that generates logs, including network devices and storage arrays.
Per Processor
Per Processor (CPU count)Licenses processors on either a physical server or virtual machine.
Per Socket-pairLicenses the number of socket pairs on the physical host or the number of virtual machine (VM) pairs running a Red Hat Enterprise Linux server on a physical host.
Per UserLicenses a user for the number of installations of software.
Per User/DeviceLicense a unique user or a shared device. If the license is assigned to a user, they have unlimited connections to an unlimited number of devices. If the license is assigned to a device, an unlimited number of users can connect to a single device.
Processor Value Unit (PVU)Licensing is based on the processor technology and the number of processors that are made available to the program. Full capacity Processor Value Unit (PVU) entitlements require licenses for all activated processor cores in the physical hardware environment. Sub-capacity Processor Value Unit (PVU) entitlements require licenses for fewer than the full capacity of your server or group of servers.
Resource Value Unit (RVU)Licensing is based on the number of activated processor cores used or managed by a product. Full capacity Resource Value Unit (RVU) entitlements require licenses for all activated processor cores in the physical hardware environment. Sub-capacity Resource Value Unit (RVU) entitlements require licenses for fewer than the full capacity of your server or group of servers.
Server (Per Instance)Licenses a set number of software installations on either a physical server or virtual machine.
Server (Per Server)Licenses all software installations on a physical server and any virtual machines hosted by the physical server.
TokenShares and manages a pool of tokens among users or devices. Checks out a token or a set of tokens when a user or device requests access to the software. If at the peak of license consumption, there are no tokens left, the user or device is denied access to the software. Rights consumed is based on the peak number of tokens checked out during the specified period of time.
User CALLicenses each user that accesses your server, regardless of the number of devices that each user is using to access the server.
User SubscriptionLicenses for the number of users.
User/Device CALLicenses each user or device that accesses your server.
Virtual Processor Core (VPC)Licenses the number of virtual CPUs (vCPUs) that are available to or managed by a product.
