About this file
This is an Integrated Statement of Work for the procurement of a Soxhlet extraction system to support laboratory analysis of lipid and extractable components in agricultural and food research samples. The contractor/vendor shall provide one complete Soxhlet extractor system with all components necessary for immediate operation upon delivery, suitable for laboratory use and compatible with standard analytical solvents.
The system must meet the following minimum specifications: Randall Improved Soxhlet extraction method with a minimum capacity of 6 extraction positions and the ability to perform extraction cycles within 45-60 minutes at a solvent recovery rate of at least 80%. Materials must be borosilicate glass or chemically resistant materials such as aluminum cups suitable for organic solvents. The system requires an integrated heating mantle or compatible external heating source, efficient condenser(s) capable of continuous solvent reflux, and compatibility with common solvents including hexane, petroleum ether, and ethanol. Electrical requirements mandate compatibility with standard U.S. laboratory power supply (120 V, 60 Hz). Deliverables include the complete extraction system, all required glassware and accessories, user manual and operating instructions, manufacturer warranty documentation, and a packing list and certificate of conformity if available. No specific delivery date, pricing information, response deadline, or federal agency is identified in this document.

INTEGRATED STATEMENT OF WORK
Soxhlet Extractor System
Background
Soxhlet extractor is a laboratory apparatus used for the continuous solid-liquid extraction of compounds with limited solubility. It revolutionized fat analysis and remains a standard, reliable method for isolating analytes from solid samples using a refluxing solvent cycle.
Objectives
The purpose of this Statement of Work is to define the requirements for the procurement of a
Soxhlet extraction system to support laboratory analysis of lipid and extractable components in agricultural and food research samples. The equipment will be used for routine and validated analytical procedures requiring reproducible solvent extraction.
Scope
The contractor/vendor shall provide a complete Soxhlet extractor system, including all components necessary for immediate operation upon delivery. The system must be suitable for laboratory use and compatible with standard analytical solvents.
Tasks or Requirements
The Soxhlet extraction system shall meet or exceed the following minimum specifications:
• Extraction Method: Randall Improved Soxhlet extraction
• Capacity: Minimum of 6 extraction positions
• Time Frame: Must be able to perform extraction cycle within 45-60 minutes
• Solvent Recover Rate: Must be at or above 80%
• Materials: Borosilicate glass or chemically resistant materials, like Aluminum cups, suitable for organic solvents
• Heating System: Integrated heating mantle or compatible external heating source
• Condensation: Efficient condenser(s) capable of continuous solvent reflux
• Compatibility: Suitable for common solvents (e.g., hexane, petroleum ether, ethanol)
• Electrical Requirements: Compatible with standard U.S. laboratory power supply (120 V, 60 Hz)
Deliverables or Delivery Schedule
The vendor shall deliver:
• One (1) complete Soxhlet extraction system
• All required glassware and accessories for operation
• User manual and operating instructions
• Manufacturer warranty documentation
• Packing list and certificate of conformity (if available)
