Fence Installation at USDA-ARS field site in Reedley, CA Statement of Work
1. Background: The USDA-ARS located in Parlier, CA has 20 acres of land leased from Reedley College in Reedley, CA. The 20 acres will be used to establish a citrus rootstock trial and breeding populations of citrus scions and rootstocks.
Citrus materials planted at the USDA Reedley site must be protected with a fence to prevent theft of farm equipment, fruit and trees. Fence installation will ensure quality and reliability of critical research data collected from field research materials.
2. Scope: The Contractor shall provide a proposal that details the installation of a new fence and gates around the perimeter of the 20-acre field site. Site walk will be scheduled, and it is highly encouraged that contractors attend the site walk to familiarize with property boundaries (monuments) prior to submitting proposals.
3. Objectives: Obtain a contractor to provide all the materials, labor, and installation of the fence.
4. Requirements: Contractor will perform the following tasks as a part of the installation of the new fence.
- Gauge: 11 ga chain link.
- Length: Approximately 3,800 linear feet.
- Height: 6 feet tall plus 3 strands of barbed wire on top.
- Cross bars on top
- 2 rolling gates of 20 x 6 ft
- 1 single swirl gate 3 x 6 ft.
- 2-7/8 corner and gate posts
- 1-7/8 line post
5. Delivery: Contractor shall furnish all equipment, materials, and supplies required to achieve the quality performance standards of the work in this contract. All work will be performed IAW federal, state, and local requirements. Provide the contracting officer representative with an installation schedule.
6. Government-Furnished Property: Provide as-builds upon request. Area for contractor to stage equipment and materials required for fence installation.
7. Security Requirements: Contractor must abide by local security regulations and federal, State, local safety regulations.
8. Place of Performance: The work to be performed under this contract will be performed at the USDA-ARS field site located at Reedley College in the city of Reedley, California. Work will be conducted on regular business days (Monday through Friday) and during regular business hours (7:00AM to 3:30 PM Pacific) excluding any federal holidays.
9. Period of Performance: Performance is 90 days after notice to proceed. Please note that performance cannot begin until after an electrical line is run into the area.
