About this file
This is a technical specifications document for pressure transducers required by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) for use in the automated snowpack telemetry (SNOTEL) network operated by the Alaska Data Collection Office (AKDCO). The NRCS seeks GE TERPS digital pressure sensors (Part# DPS813F-TB-A1-CC-H0-PE) to provide data readings for precipitation and snow water equivalent (SWE) measurements within the SNOTEL system. The specified transducers must feature a 0-2 Bar range, 25mm stainless steel silicon exposed element, RS-485 digital output, polyurethane cable with water-tight connection (15 feet length), operating temperature range of -40 to +85°C with full thermal calibration, and a 1/4" NPT female pressure connection. These sensors require high accuracy and thermal stability to maintain standardized data quality across the SNOTEL network.
The associated Request for Quotation (RFQ) solicitation number 12FPC326Q0045 is issued by the Department of Agriculture Under Secretary for Farm Production and Conservation and is set-aside exclusively for small business concerns under the North American Industry Classification Standard Code 334519, with a small business size standard of 600 employees. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside, though all responsible sources may submit quotations for consideration. The acquisition is for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Part 12, and this announcement constitutes the only solicitation; no separate written solicitation will be issued.

Natural Resources Conservation Service 800 W. Evergreen Ave., Suite 100 Palmer, AK 99645
| Date: | April 17, 2025 |
| Project: | Snow Survey SNOTEL/SCAN Pressure Transducers |
Purpose: The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has a need for electronic pressure transducers for use in the automated snowpack telemetry (SNOTEL) network operated by the Alaska Data Collection Office (AKDCO).
Pressure transducers provide data readings for the two most important sensors in the SNOTEL system, precipitation and snow water equivalent (SWE). These transducers must be highly accurate and thermally stable to produce a standardized level of data quality. The GE TERPS sensor has been tested extensively in the lab and field and has proven to be suited for the application.
Desired Transducer: GE TERPS Part# DPS813F -TB-A1-CC-H0-PE
Specifications:
-Digital pressure sensor with digital output -Range: 0-2 Bar -25mm stainless steel silicon exposed -RS-485 output -Polyurethane Cable Option (water-tight connection to transducer) 15’ length -40 to + 85 C Temperature Compensation -Full Thermal Calibration -1/4" NPT Female Pressure Connection image1.png image2.png image3.png
