About this file
This is a Statement of Work for network cabling and IT room improvements at the Hebgen Lake Ranger District facility in West Yellowstone, Montana. The project requires installation of a complete IT infrastructure at a 122' by 36' building with the IT room located in the basement.
Required deliverables include: a 4'x8' fire-rated plywood backboard; a wall-mounted IT cabinet (one of three specified sizes with modifications acceptable); copper telecommunications grounding with main ground bus bar and bonding to building grounding system; a dedicated 120vac 20amp AC circuit with receptacle for UPS power; an appropriately sized uninterruptible power supply (UPS); an 8-outlet power distribution unit (PDU) compliant with local electrical codes; installation of 51 new Category 6 structured cabling runs throughout the building with home-run termination to the centralized data cabinet; installation of cabling supports, pathway systems, patch panels, and termination hardware with complete labeling; Level III certification testing of all Category 6 cabling with verification of performance and standards compliance, replacement and re-testing of failed cable, and electronic test report delivery; and removal and disposal of obsolete cabling. Approximately two-thirds of the cabling runs are located in crawl space, and contractors should reference the included floor plan attachment for cable access point locations and length estimation. Installation, testing, and qualifications requirements are detailed in the ADI – Guidelines For Typical Installations.

Network Cabling and IT Room Improvements
Statement of Work
The following are the items required by this contract to meet facility IT infrastructure basic requirements at this location. Details on installation, testing, as-built drawings, and qualifications requirements can be found in the ADI – Guidelines For Typical Installations.
a. Plywood backboard – 4’x8’ size, fire-rated and properly secured to the wall (stud or masonry) with some modifications allowed to accommodate space.
b. Wall mounted IT cabinet – choose 1 for scope of installation – (A)-HWD 20”x24”x22”, (B) HWD 25”x24”x26.5” or (C) HWD 42”x24”x 36” - modifications are acceptable that meets the requirement for secure access. Where a wall mounted enclosed cabinet rack is installed, it’s recommended for a minimum of 36” of clear space around the wall mounted rack. Includes installation of rack accessories including cable management and equipment shelves, and installation of rack mounted power distribution components.
c. Grounding – Copper telecommunications ground buss bar with stand offs. Installation of a telecommunications main ground bus bar (TMGB). Bonding of telecommunications cabinet to the building grounding system, and installation of required copper bonding conductors is required.
d. Dedicated 120vac 20amp AC circuit if not already present to power a UPS- see below-recommend installing 20A receptacle in back box of cabinet if new addition.
e. UPS – Uninterruptable power supply, appropriately sized, rack or floor mount.
f. PDU- Power distribution unit, 8 outlet capacity for ample power distribution. All electrical work must be performed in accordance with applicable local electrical codes.
g. Cat 6 cabling for Wireless Access points and user workstations (see included building layout map with cabling access points labeled). Installation of 51 new category 6 structured cabling throughout the building is required. Installation of cabling to workstations and device locations as required, installation of cabling supports and pathway systems, installation of patch panels and termination hardware, termination of all cabling at the new telecommunications cabinet, and labeling of all cabling and patch panels is required. All structured cabling installed must be home-run back to the new data cabinet for termination and management.
h. Testing & Certification - Upon completion of installation, the contractor will perform full testing and certification. Work includes Level III certification testing of all Category 6 cabling, verification of cable performance and standards compliance, replacement and re-testing of any cable that fails certification, and delivery of electronic test reports.
i. Removal and disposal of all no longer necessary cabling.
For the purpose of estimating total cable length required see C04_Attachment 2. Floor Plan with Ports Labeled_1240LU26Q0132. Building dimensions are 122’ long by 36’ wide, IT room where cabling needs to be run is located in the basement, under the bathrooms on the outside wall. Existing cabling is run through the floor joints to the centralized IT room in the basement. Approximately 2/3 of the cabling runs are located in a crawl space.
