About this file

This is a bid announcement document issued by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District for the decommissioning and removal of EPCOT generators. The scope of work includes the disconnect and removal of two 12.5KV generators and associated enclosures with empty fuel tanks, demolition of a 15KV generator switchgear, demolition of all interconnecting power and controls conductors, and closeout and abandonment of an underground overflow tank with associated piping. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for December 11, 2025, at 12:00 PM at the EPCOT Central Energy Plant located at 751 Backstage Lane, Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830. All attendees must RSVP through the PlanetBids platform by December 10, 2025, at 12:00 PM and are required to wear closed-toed shoes, pants, hard hat, safety vest, and eye and ear protection. Bid documents are available through the PlanetBids vendor portal, and all bids must be submitted electronically through this platform.

Contractors must possess a State of Florida Electrical License to be eligible. While not mandatory, possession of Advanced and Basic Flagger Temporary Traffic Control Certifications is preferred, as the plans call for temporary traffic control implementation. The District offers bid preferences for local vendors, veteran small businesses, and opportunity zone businesses on most solicitations. All work must comply with local, state, and federal codes and standards. The contractor is responsible for performing all work shown on the drawings and described in the specifications that constitutes a "complete job" unless specifically excluded or designated as owner-furnished and installed. Registration on the District's bid platform is free, and vendors can view documents without registering; however, registration is required to submit questions and bids.
