About this file
This document summarizes a sources sought synopsis for a C-17 databus recorder system. The synopsis seeks potential sources to develop or modify a line replaceable unit capable of capturing all data across the data buses and fuel quantity computers of C-17 aircraft. Respondents should provide a hardware solution designed to comply with current Air Force cybersecurity standards. The C-17 Program Office of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Robins Air Force Base will competitively solicit the effort. While industry is encouraged to review technical requirements, participation in this synopsis does not ensure participation in future solicitations or awards. Respondents will not be reimbursed for participation expenses.

Caution:
This Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for development, qualification, and production of the C-17 Databus Recorder (DR) effort. Industry is encouraged to review technical requirements for the DR expected to be competitively solicited. The level of security clearance and amount of foreign participation in this effort has not been determined. Contractors or institutions responding to this SSS are placed on notice that participation in this questionnaire does not ensure participation in future solicitations or contract awards. The government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with participation in this SSS.
