About this file
This is a Buyer Guide for the Unison Marketplace, a federal contracting platform designed to facilitate competitive buying for federal agencies. The guide provides comprehensive instructions for government buyers on navigating and utilizing the marketplace's full suite of functionality.
The guide covers essential buyer operations including profile management, creation of Seller Communities for targeted solicitations, and the complete buy posting workflow across five sections: Start Buy (with category and NAICS selection), Line Items, Buy Terms, Additional Info (target pricing, bid decrements, attachments), and Confirm Buy. The marketplace supports specialized contract vehicles including Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs), Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts, and multi-year Option Year buys with configurable periods of performance. Buyers can manage the full lifecycle of solicitations through features including question answering (with reply-to-all or individual seller options), buy extensions (minimum one-hour increments), reposting with amended requirements, cloning of previous buys, and transfers between buyers. The platform integrates with SAM.gov for real-time contractor registration status and socioeconomic set-aside verification. The award process requires finalization through purchase order or authorization number entry. The system generates comprehensive PDF packages documenting buy information, bid summaries ranked by price, competition analytics with graphical visualization against target price benchmarks, and detailed bid details including company information, SAM registration status, line item pricing breakdowns, and ActivityCard® seller performance summaries. Additional features include Draft Buy Builder services for requirement drafting, a real-time chat feature for Account Management support, interactive guided walkthroughs, and supervisory access controls enabling management oversight of team members' buying activities.
