About this file
This document is a Determination for a Brand Name Specification issued by the Oregon State Police (OSP) for the procurement of Defense Technology less-lethal munitions, including crowd control, first responder, tactical/SWAT, and training devices. The estimated total cost for the six-year price agreement is not to exceed $150,000. OSP requires these specific less-lethal munitions for the Department's SWAT and Mobile Response Team (MRT) weapons. The agency determined that the use of a brand name specification is justified due to the need for munitions that are compatible with existing SWAT/MRT weapon platforms and the requirement for members to use the identical munitions with which they have extensive training and experience.
The related state and local contract opportunity is an RFQ for the initial purchase and a six-year price agreement for Defense Technology less-lethal munitions, involving the Marion County and City of Salem jurisdictions. The contract will provide less-lethal munitions to support the SWAT and MRT operations of the participating agencies.
