About this file
This document is a single source justification for a glaucoma laser system procurement by the Department of Veterans Affairs Oklahoma City Health Care System. The justification requests approval to procure the laser system from a specific distributor as a 100% small business set-aside under FAR Subpart 8.4 due to it being a patient safety requirement. The laser system must be familiar to the residency training program residents and allow adjustment of laser burn strength for each individual patient to help reduce complications. Market research confirmed the requested manufacturer and that the specified distributor is the sole source. Both the requesting department and contracting officer certified the single source justification and procurement approval.
