About this file
Main Feeds Schematic for Bradenton Water Reclamation Facility
This document is an electrical infrastructure schematic for the City of Bradenton, Florida's Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) and associated satellite facilities. The WRF receives primary power from Florida Power and Light through a 480V transformer and is supported by three generators with automatic transfer switches. The facility contains seven main motor control centers (MCCs) and multiple subpanels distributed across various operational buildings, including the Generator Building, Sludge Pumping Station, Digester, New Clarifier, Chemical Building, Maintenance Building, Operations Building, Blower Building, and Filter Lift Buildings. The Mixon and Tropicana facilities, located offsite, each maintain independent 480V feeds from FPL with associated MCCs. All circuit breakers throughout the system are molded case configurations with various relays and contactors, and many pumps are controlled by variable frequency drives or adjustable speed drives. The electrical distribution system serves numerous pumps, motors, blowers, air conditioning units, air compressors, hoists, and heating equipment, with transformers providing 120V control power distribution across multiple locations.
The schematic details the specific feeder and load configurations for each MCC and subpanel, documenting main feeder breakers, generator automatic transfer switches, interconnections between boards, and the number of feeds serving various equipment at each location. This documentation serves as the baseline electrical inventory for the City's comprehensive Electrical Capacity and Emergency Power Evaluation project, providing the engineering firm selected through the RFQ process with essential reference material for assessing current electrical loads, available capacity, system reconfiguration recommendations, arc flash hazards, and emergency power adequacy at the facility.

Text version
Bradenton Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) is directly fed from Florida Power and Light through a 480V transformer onsite. Mixon and Tropicana, located offsite, are fed similarly.
All MCCs and noted subpanels are 480V.
All breakers are believed to be molded case circuit breakers with various configurations (relays, contactors, etc)
Many of the pumps are VFD/ASD controlled.
