About this file

This is an Addendum No. 1 to the bidding documents for Fraser Public Schools' 2023 Bond Program, Bid Package 9 (BP9), covering Operations & Bus Garage renovation work in Fraser, Michigan. The addendum modifies the original contract documents issued March 18, 2026, and extends the bid due date to Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 12:00 PM via Building Connected, with post-bid clarifications scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2026. The work scope includes comprehensive renovation of both the Operations & Maintenance Building and Bus Garage, encompassing general trades, roofing, overhead doors, storefront systems, masonry, drywall, acoustical ceilings, painting, carpeting, and specialty finishes. Key clarifications in this addendum address roofing specifications requiring tapered insulation with full R-30 rating at the Bus Garage, removal of walkway pads from the Bus Garage roof while retaining them only around the Operations building unit, mandatory use of the Secure Edge 300 metal fascia system, and addition of quartz surface specifications for windowsills. The addendum also clarifies that asphalt paving has been removed from the scope and adds detailed specifications for sectional overhead doors and quartz surface installations.

The contract documents establish detailed performance and submission requirements including mandatory submittal of shop drawings within four weeks of Notice to Proceed, daily electronic reporting via Autodesk Build, and comprehensive coordination responsibilities across multiple trades. General Trades contractors must provide a full-time on-site superintendent, participate in daily 6:45 AM coordination meetings, and maintain detailed labor rates and equipment pricing for approval by Barton Malow Builders, the construction manager. The bid includes a $10,000 allowance for unidentified general trades work at Barton Malow's direction, with alternates pricing required for Hardy Board and Batten Siding as a substitute for the PAC Clad metal panel system. Project working hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with contractors responsible for all temporary electricity, site cleanup, material storage, dewatering, and protection measures. Contractors must secure utility locates via Miss Dig and private utility locators, with damage liability and minimum $1,500 administrative charges assessed for any utility strikes, and must maintain required personal protective equipment and project site badges throughout construction.
