About this file
This document is an Addendum (#1) issued by the Town of Leicester, Massachusetts, for the Borger Lift project. The addendum addresses concerns about the original project deadline of November 3, 2025, as specified in the Invitation for Bid (IFB). Recognizing potential challenges with supply chain issues and material procurement, the Town Administrator is providing flexibility to bidders by allowing them to propose their own estimated date of substantial completion.
The addendum indicates that bids will not be automatically disqualified for missing the original deadline, but the proposed completion timeline will be evaluated for reasonableness. The Town aims to encourage competition by accommodating potential delays in material acquisition. Bidders are instructed to clearly state their estimated substantial completion date in their response, with the understanding that excessively prolonged timelines may result in the bid being deemed non-responsive.

RE: Addendum #1 Borger Lift
There has been a question regarding a vendor’s ability to meet the project deadline of November 3, 2025, as listed in the IFB.
Understanding the ongoing supply chain issues involved with to obtaining materials, the Town is willing to extend the date of substantial completion to encourage competition. Please be advised that the bidder should state its estimated date of substantial completion with its response. The bid will only be disqualified as non-responsive if the period of contract award to substantial completion is deemed excessive.
