About this file
This Addendum #1 is issued by the Gwinnett County Financial Services Purchasing Division for solicitation BL059-26, regarding the purchase and installation of batting cages at Lenora Park for the Gwinnett County Department of Parks & Recreation. The addendum revises key specifications for the project, including batting cage construction requirements using NOVA30 netting with sewn rope perimeter measuring 65 feet in length, 14 feet in width, and 12 feet in height with 1.75-inch square netting. The original bid deadline was extended to 2:50 P.M. local time on March 26, 2026, for sealed bids to be submitted to the Gwinnett County Financial Services Purchasing Division, 2nd Floor, 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046. The bid opening will occur virtually at 3:00 P.M. on the same date through a WebEx link, with apparent bid results available the following business day on www.gwinnettcounty.com. The addendum also includes detailed revisions to wood border specifications, including excavation requirements to 6 feet by 6 feet with compacted M10 base stone, minimum 6-inch wide by 12-inch deep wood border cross-sections, and post foundation requirements of minimum 12-inch diameter by 36-inch deep concrete footings at 3,500 PSI.
The addendum confirms that standard cage sizes of 12 feet high by 14 feet wide by 70 feet long are acceptable alternatives to the specified dimensions. Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation will be responsible for all sitework and grading prior to contractor installation, with expected slopes of 1 to 2 inches and specific attention to slope and drainage challenges between Fields #5 and #6. Contractors must acknowledge receipt of this addendum on page 7 of the bid documents and return it with their bid submission, as failure to do so may result in the bid being deemed non-responsive. Only bidders not on the Gwinnett County ineligible source list are eligible to submit bids for this project.
