ADDENDUM #1

BL038-22, PROVISION OF COMMERCIAL WASTE AND RECOVERED MATERIALS HAULING ON AN

ANNUAL CONTRACT

Note the following changes and/or clarifications to the above referenced bid.

Questions/Answers:

Q1. There are no bid bonds or evidence of performance bond ability required, correct?

A1. Correct, bonds are not required for this solicitation.

Q2. On page 2, under Scope of Work, 2nd paragraph, it reads we are responsible for loading, removing and disposing of waste from and around each container in accordance with all local, state and national code rules, regulations and laws. There are no such codes, rules, regulations and laws that exist for this service. It further reads that Contractor must leave surrounding waste and or recovered material container areas in a clean condition. Many times, the general public uses these containers in an illegal way to get rid of excess garbage at home. When this occurs, there are no industry standards that apply whereby the Contractor cleans up around the can and reloads the container. Is this correct?

A2. This section is meant to refer to any garbage that is accidentally spilled by the driver when servicing the container. Gwinnett County Parks staff shall be responsible for cleaning up around the dumpster area.

Q3. On page 3, first paragraph, under Recovered Materials, bid reads mixed recyclables in dumpsters with glass. Processors will not accept glass any longer mixed with other recyclables.

A3. The Recovered Materials section is meant to define the items that the County may recycle. The

County has a separate annual contract for glass recycling. Glass recycling will not be a part of this contract.

Q4. On page 3, under Trucks/Containers, I assume you meant For Park Use Only just for the parks, right?

A4. Correct – each container at park locations (parks, aquatic centers, community centers, senior centers) must have “For Park Use Only” stenciled on the sides to discourage unauthorized use.

Acknowledge receipt of this addendum on page 7 of the bid document.
