About this file
This is a Bid Bond Form for the City of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, related to the Lakemont Center Drainage Improvements project (ITB-25-051). The project encompasses removal and replacement of approximately 13 linear feet of 12-inch HDPE pipe, installation of a 48-inch diameter manhole, bypass pumping and dewatering services, and cleaning and camera inspection of 4-inch, 8-inch, and 12-inch HDPE storm pipes. Additional work includes minor landscaping, asphalt and sidewalk replacement, curb and gutter work, concrete rundowns, sidewalk chases, and erosion control measures. Bid alternates are available for single spot pipe repairs and cured-in-place pipe lining. A mandatory pre-bid meeting is scheduled for November 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm Mountain Time, with bid submissions due on November 20, 2025, at 2:00 pm. The project completion timeline is 30 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed, and the contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
The bid bond form requires a 5% bid bond as a condition of bid submission, with the penal amount to be specified by the bidder. The surety company executing the bond must appear on the U.S. Treasury Department's current list (Circular 570 as amended) and be authorized to conduct business in Colorado. The bond obligates the contractor to execute the contract if awarded, furnish a performance bond, and perform all work in accordance with the bid specifications. The city will retain 5% of the contract value until final project completion. Bidders must demonstrate qualifications through comprehensive documentation and comply with the Keep Jobs in Colorado Act, which mandates that at least 80% of labor be performed by Colorado workers. The project is funded through the City of Wheat Ridge's Capital Improvement Program and will follow Colorado Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, 2021 Edition.
