About this file
This document is a Bid Bond for the City of Santa Cruz, specifically related to the procurement of a Wildland Type Six (6) Fire Engine through Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. FD-0068. The bid bond serves as a financial guarantee that the principal bidder will enter into a contract if awarded, and will provide the required insurance certificates and performance bonds. The document covers the acquisition of a specialized fire apparatus designed for off-road firefighting and rescue operations, with specific requirements including a four-wheel drive F-550 chassis or equivalent, diesel engine, crew cab, 300-gallon water capacity, foam system, and compliance with NFPA and DOT standards.
The bid bond represents a financial commitment of 10% of the total bid amount, with the surety ensuring the city's protection if the bidder fails to meet contractual obligations. The document is structured to protect the City of Santa Cruz's interests by requiring the successful bidder to execute the contract, file appropriate insurance and performance bonds, and meet all specifications outlined in the bidding documents. The apparatus is expected to be delivered within 18 months of the bid award, with specific requirements for tool storage, compartments, and off-road capabilities tailored to the fire department's specialized needs.
