About this file

This document is an amendment to an RFP (Request for Proposals) issued by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks for various cargo trailers. The amendment provides questions and answers related to the RFP. The RFP seeks proposals for 12', 14', and 16' cargo trailers with options for rear doors, ramp doors, V-front, and rounded front designs. The trailers are to be delivered to Jewell County and Topeka City in Kansas. Proposals are due by March 28, 2024, at 2:00 PM.

The amendment addresses various clarifications and contradictions in the RFP specifications, such as the preference for single axle versus tandem axle, and the choice between rear doors and ramp doors. The agency indicates that bidders should provide pricing for both options. The amendment also allows for the use of a one-piece aluminum roof in lieu of an aluminum wrap, and the use of Scotch locks instead of Surewire connectors.

1. On the cost sheet, the bid asks for double rear doors, then two lines down, it asks for a ramp door. This is the case for all four trailers they are bidding.

• A: The want the cost of both kinds, Rear Doors and then the cost if it had ramp door.

2. Could I get some clarification on whether they are looking for a rear ramp door or a double back door. Also, in the main description, they ask for a V Front, and then 4 lines down they ask for a Rounded front.

• A: The want the cost of both kinds, Rear Doors and then the cost if it had ramp door.

3. On the 12’, 14’ trailer, they ask for 6’ wide single axle in the base specs for the trailer, then they ask for tandem axle, 7’ wide trailers in the line item below. They don’t include the 7’ wide, tandem axle line items in the 16’ trailer, which one would assume needs to have the extra axle and higher GVWR more than the 12’ and 14’ trailers.

• A: 6" trailers - single axle all 7" and up tandem axles.

4. These are contradictory of each other, so I was just curious which one they preferred or wanted us to bid. Should I assume that the line items supersede the base description, or is there any guidance on what the bidders are looking for?

• A: No Answer given.

5. Would it be okay to use a 1-piece aluminum roof in lieu of .080 aluminum wrap?

• A: This is fine.

6. And Scotch Locks instead of Surewire connectors?

• A: Either way is fine

7. also, on the 7X16 and 7X14 would it be possible to do these in Tandem axles instead of
