Scope of work: for water control structure removal and replacement at Big Island Wildlife Area, Marion County, OH History and Overview
Big Island Wildlife area is in a former wetland prairie where agricultural development has taken over. The primary management for this location is to restore wetland and grassland habitats. Wetlands have been a primary focus as they provide opportunities for the public to partake in recreational activities (i.e. birding, trapping, hunting, etc.) and areas for waterbirds to nest, feed, and loaf.
