About this file
This document is a prospectus for the Beaver Creek Forest Thinning Project, a timber stand improvement project led by the Wyoming State Forestry Division. The project involves a non-commercial thinning of ponderosa pine and Rocky Mountain juniper to reduce stem densities on approximately 86 acres of state land in Weston County, Wyoming. A mandatory pre-bid site tour will be held on November 21, 2024, and bids will be accepted on a lump sum basis. The contract will be awarded to the bidder providing the best value to the State of Wyoming, with the right to reject any and all bids reserved. The successful contractor will be obligated by a written contract with the State of Wyoming that will expire in February 2027.
The technical specifications outline the contractor's responsibilities, including the types and sizes of trees to be thinned, the desired spacing of leave trees, and procedures for cutting, treating stumps, and disposing of slash. Timing restrictions prohibit thinning operations between May 1st and October 1st, and the contractor must follow Wyoming Forestry Best Management Practices. The contractor will be responsible for furnishing all labor, equipment, supplies, and materials necessary to perform the thinning work.
