About this file
This is Addendum No. 1 to a construction bid issued by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), Office of Resilience & Coastal Protection, SE Region, for the Quayside Dock Shoreline Stabilization Project (BDC16-25/26). The addendum addresses inquiries regarding material specifications and supersedes corresponding items in the original specifications and drawings. Bidders are required to acknowledge receipt of this addendum by signing and submitting it with their bid package to Alisha Sadler, Contracts Specialist, Bureau of Design and Construction, located at 3800 Commonwealth Boulevard, MS #520, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-3000. Failure to include the signed addendum may result in bid rejection.
The addendum clarifies that an inquiry regarding equivalent or superior alternate shoreline stabilization products for the project has been rejected. Specifically, a bidder had inquired whether superior alternate products from Shoreline Erosion Control Solutions could be substituted, citing better value engineering over the project lifespan and alignment with green building standards. FDEP's response mandates that all bidders must use the materials specified in the original bid documents without substitution. All other terms and conditions of the original contract documents remain in full force and effect.
