About this file

This document is Addendum #3 for a Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) bid for the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve North Boardwalk Reconstruction project, with bid number BDC02-25/26. The addendum provides clarifications and answers to 14 contractor questions regarding project specifications, including confirmation that the entire parking lot will be closed during construction and used as a contractor lay down area, prohibitions on driving equipment on the beach, and details about pile repair and replacement procedures. The project involves reconstructing a boardwalk, stairs, and associated structures, with a substantial completion timeframe of 90 days.

The bid requires contractors to include unit pricing for potential pile repairs and replacements, assuming a maximum of 10 piles will require repair and 3 piles will require full replacement. Material specifications are provided, such as using 0.03" thick banding for straps, galvanized wire mesh fencing, and acceptable wood treatment options like CCA 0.6. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection will handle gopher tortoise management on the site. Contractors must submit a signed acknowledgment of this addendum with their bid submission, with failure to do so potentially resulting in bid rejection.
