About this file

This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for Barge Crane Service for the U.S. Coast Guard. The SOW requires a contractor to provide a barge crane to remove and reinstall an Appleton Marine Crane (KB20-10-50 Boom, 12,000 lbs) on the USCGC WYACONDA at the CG Schlimme Industrial Facility in St. Louis, MO. The project involves lifting the equipment approximately 80 feet high with a 70-foot outreach, with specific removal and installation dates of 2 April 2025 and 30 April 2025, respectively. The contractor must provide a crane capable of mooring outboard of the Coast Guard cutter and holding the load for an unspecified period while personnel position the boom.

Key requirements include providing a crane with sufficient lifting capacity for a minimum of five hours, using Coast Guard-provided lifting slings and straps, and submitting proof of a Certified Weight Test completed within the last twelve months. A Coast Guard Deck Supervisor will direct all lifting and movement, and the contractor must comply with all safety requirements set by the Coast Guard Industrial Facility and Army Corps of Engineers. The project location is Building 17 at 100 Arsenal Street, with work hours from 0700-1500, and any work outside these hours requires advanced approval from the project manager.
