| thedetails: Due to unforeseen opportunities, DNR was able to branch out to the Wabash River and remove carp, which has ran current scheduling insufficient for contracted fishermen. IDNR did several rapid response efforts on the Wabash River that were not included in the original contract as the project and funding did not exist at contract establishment. While the funding was separate, it was not accounted for in the contract dollar amounts. |
The two vendors requiring amendments are the sole vendors responsible for conducting seine hauls which is a tool DNR has begun to rely on more heavily due to its effectiveness. Approximately 40% of the carp removed over the last 2 years are the result of this tool. The seine use falls under rapid response which has increased the overall cost of the contract for these two individuals. The full amount of the amendment may not be utilized but is needed for possible rapid response deployments if needed. A new contract is anticipated to be in place when this contract expires in December 2025.
