About this file
This document contains the technical specifications for various fyke and gill net designs to be used by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) for fish population assessments. The specifications outline the frame size, mesh size, hoop diameter, throat configuration, and lead dimensions for six different trap net items as well as an experimental gill net. The requested items include 1.5-inch mesh, 1.0-inch mesh, and 0.5-inch mesh trap nets with 50-foot leads, as well as a 48-inch fiberglass hoop net and a 125-foot experimental gill net with varying mesh sizes. This contract opportunity is for the IDNR Fisheries Division serving jurisdictions within the state of Illinois, specifically Mason County.
The technical requirements provide detailed dimensions and construction details for each net type, including the use of spring steel frames, polypropylene ropes, and premium black net coatings. Bidders will need to demonstrate the ability to produce these specialized fyke and gill nets to the specified standards. No information is provided regarding pricing, set-asides, incumbents, funding sources, or award dates, as this document focuses solely on the technical specifications for the requested equipment.
