SOURCES SOUGHT INFORMATION

Sources Sought No.: N6945024R0057 B2080 Renovation of Galley, Emergency Department and Pharmacy at the NAS Jacksonville, FL Attachment 2

1. Fire Alarm System, Fire Alarm Control Unit (FACU) and related equipment (2 pages Maximum):

Provide a list of commercially available Fire Alarm System, Control Units and associated equipment manufactured and installed by your organization, that are compatible with Siemens Fire Alarm System, Siemens XLSV FireFinder FACU.

The procurement for B2080 encompasses design, engineering and construction services, along with the integration of personal property and transition services necessary for the renovation of the Emergency, Morgue, Security, Galley, Kitchen, Nutritional Counseling, Inpatient Pharmacy, ENT Balance Lab, Sleep Disorder Services, Biomedical Engineering, Outpatient Behavioral Health departments, all located within existing Hospital Building 2080 at NAS Jacksonville, FL.

The project requires new equipment to be integrated into the existing fire alarm system. The fire alarm system is a comprehensive fire protection system designed to detect fires, alert occupants, and activate building safety measures. It includes both manual and automatic detection capabilities and is intended to notify able-bodied occupants to evacuate and alert staff to implement the facility's fire safety plan for those who may need assistance.

The system interfaces with other building systems to perform fire safety functions such as closing fire-rated doors, recalling elevators, and shutting down ventilation systems. Additionally, it automatically alerts local emergency services for a timely response.

The existing system is a Siemens FireFinder XLSV networked system that communicates with a receiving station using a Kingfisher industrial radio alarm control system. It's important to note that while this is a fire alarm system, it's not a mass notification system. Upgrading to a combined system is not necessary based on the current facility needs.

The project involves modifying the Siemens XLSV FireFinder FACU to install new equipment and components and program the system to control building systems and transmit alarm signals. These modifications must be compatible with the existing system to ensure integrated fire alarm and suppression capabilities.

To maintain consistency and interoperability, the expansion of the fire alarm system should utilize compatible Siemens products. It is crucial to ensure compatibility so that the existing system's functionality and certifications are not compromised, avoiding the need for extensive reprogramming, cybersecurity recertification, and user retraining.
