About this file
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) from Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), managed by Brookhaven Science Associates for the U.S. Department of Energy, dated July 16, 2026.
BNL is requesting the manufacture of a modular electron gun pulser with specific technical capabilities. The pulser must generate negative, programmable amplitude pulses for a nominally 25 Ohm gun cathode and include three primary modules: Control Module, Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) Module, and Amplifier Module. In Multi-Bunch Mode (MBM), the device must be triggered by the rising edge of a Long Trigger Input with amplitude and bunch length programmed via waveform, supporting a bunch train length of 10-320 nanoseconds. In Single-Bunch Mode (SBM), pulses must be produced by a transistorized pulse generator circuit triggered by a Short Trigger Input with a pulse width of 1 nanosecond. The command interface requires waveform data or commands transmitted to the ethernet port on the control module via fiber connection with configurable IP address. Triggering will utilize BNC connectors on the front panel, with one pulse per event for both SBM and MBM triggers. The system must provide Long Pulse Output (SMA) and Short Pulse Output (SMA) with monitoring capabilities including Bias Monitor (BNC), Short Pulse Monitor (BNC), and Proportional Monitor (SMA). The pulser card must accommodate a YU-171 cathode socket with ANSTO design impedance matching and accurately route signals to the cathode. The document is marked as containing high-level procurement requirements and specifications not constituting export-controlled technology or technical data.
