Statement of Work Internet Service – South Atlantic Water Science Center Norcross, Georgia
I. GENERAL INFORMATION
A. Introduction The purpose of this contract is to procure internet services for the United States Geological Survey (USGS), South Atlantic Water Science Center (SAWSC), supporting the Water Mission Area. SAWSC requires a new Internet Service Provider (ISP) to ensure robust backbone infrastructure for data transfer as the Department of the Interior transitions away from physical servers and storage devices. The requirement is for 1 Gbps bi-directional Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) for one base year, with four option periods for continued internet service and building interconnectivity.
B. Background The current service is 1 Gbps bi-directional provided by AT&T. The SAWSC Norcross, GA office requires 1 Gbps bi-directional DIA with IPv6 capability to support future initiatives. Security must meet or exceed Federal Government standards, and the ISP must provide a Service Level Agreement (SLA) guaranteeing 24/7 support.
C. Definitions / Applicable Documents
· Bi-directional speeds: Simultaneous inbound and outbound traffic between two networking devices.
· Demarc: The point where the ISP’s network connects to the customer’s on-premises wiring.
· DIA (Dedicated Internet Access): A fully dedicated, business-grade internet connection delivered via Ethernet or private-line circuits.
· ISP (Internet Service Provider): An organization providing internet access through various technologies (DSL, cable, fiber, etc.).
· IPv4 and IPv6: Internet Protocol versions providing unique IP addresses for devices; IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses.
· SLA (Service Level Agreement): A contractual commitment defining service levels, uptime, and support terms.
D. Scope The ISP shall install and maintain unmanaged DIA with full bi-directional speed of 1 Gbps, provide five static IP addresses (one for the USGS router), install necessary lines to the demarcation point, extend connectivity to the USGS IT room, and test the circuit to ensure compliance. Service shall be provided for five years at the USGS SAWSC Norcross, GA office.
II. WORK REQUIREMENTS
A. Technical Requirements Work Requirements
· ISP must be an authorized AT&T reseller.
· Perform all necessary connections to provide internet service at 1770 Corporate Dr, Suite 500, Norcross, GA 30093.
· Installation shall include all labor, parts, hardware, firmware, and software.
· Install DIA with 1 Gbps bi-directional speed, tested for optimal performance.
· Provide five static IP addresses to USGS after installation.
Acceptance Criteria USGS IT staff will verify connectivity and confirm continuous, reliable internet service.
B. Deliverables
