About this file
These engineering design documents detail the rehabilitation of the Aquarium Entrance Road at Gavins Point National Fish Hatchery in South Dakota. The technical drawings include a site plan, vicinity map, and detailed road construction specifications for a full-depth reclamation project involving 7" pulverization of existing pavement, application of prime and tack coats, and installation of 4" asphalt concrete pavement in two lifts. The project scope covers road reconstruction with specific requirements such as maintaining access for government staff and residents, completing work by Labor Day 2025, and establishing parking and storage areas with contractor responsibility for any damages.
The drawings show the proposed road alignment, construction limits, and typical cross-sections, with notes indicating approximate dimensions that may be adjusted by the Contracting Officer. The site plan reveals the location of the entrance road relative to the hatchery buildings, parking areas, and surrounding landscape, with color-coded lines indicating different construction phases and existing infrastructure. The project is part of a federal contract opportunity (Solicitation Number: 140FGA25Q0030) under the Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service, aimed at rehabilitating the aquarium entrance road infrastructure.
