About this file

This is a construction design specification document for a ramp extension and landings project, presented as an architectural floor plan drawing. The document outlines the structural requirements for new ramp and landing construction at Padre Island National Seashore Park's cabin facility.

The project specifications include the installation of multiple landings (Landing #2 through Landing #7) with defined structural components: 2x12 beams lag-screwed to 6x6 posts using either two A307 5/8" diameter by 4" lag screws or three 5/16" by 4" GRK structural screws rated for treated wood; minimum 2x8 joists spaced 16" on center; and 2x6 deck boards for the ramp surface. Hand rail requirements specify 4x4 posts lag-screwed to rim joists with 2x4 top, middle, and bottom rails, with the top cap positioned at least 36" minimum in height from the deck board. Additional specifications include ramp and stair tread widths of 46"-48", a ramp slope of 1.5" per foot, an aluminum ramp component, and pressure blocking at connection points with face nailing using 10 penny HD nails. The document references existing ramp and landing conditions shown in Attachment 1 "Pais Cabin 1.25.23 - As Built" drawings and indicates that Landing #7 shall terminate approximately 2 feet above grade, with grade elevation maintenance as the park's responsibility.
