About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document from a site visit for the PAIS - Backcountry Cabin Roof Repairs solicitation (140P6026Q0029) issued by the Department of the Interior National Park Service Midwest Region.

The document addresses four key clarifications identified during the site visit. First, regarding roof condition, hail damage and multiple known leak areas will be addressed through spot repairs rather than full roof replacement. Second, the contractor will be responsible for determining the elevation of breakaway sand and flood control barriers to account for multiple elevation changes on site, which will inform excavation requirements. Third, breakaway sand controls will be anchored to pylons and designed to breakaway at those anchor points per FEMA design standards. Fourth, while the Statement of Work indicates two new landings to be constructed, the as-built drawings do not reflect current site conditions; the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) will determine the location and direction of ramps and landings on site. These clarifications establish baseline expectations for scope interpretation and decision-making authority between the government and contractor during performance.
