3.1 STATEMENT OF WORK
Media Monitoring Service Background
The Office of Wildland Fire (OWF) develops the budget and creates policy on behalf of the U.S. Department of the Interior’s (DOI) Wildland Fire Management program that spans 535 million acres and thousands of employees. The office is responsible for the preparation and distribution of information to employees, a variety of external stakeholders, and the public.
Due to the high-profile nature of wildfire management, leadership for DOI’s Wildland Fire Management program must remain current on emerging issues and perceptions reflected in the news media that could impact the program’s work, as well as monitor the effectiveness of the program’s communication efforts.
To meet this need, OWF requires access to a media monitoring service to support the work of the office and DOI’s Wildland Fire Management program in providing effective communication.
Objective
The purpose of this requirement is to procure media monitoring services that include news coverage monitoring and access to stories, media analytics, curated daily reports, and customer support services.

The contract will include unlimited search terms, searches, and results. The contractor will provide analytics of news coverage. It will offer a web-based system that is already fully developed and in use among its other customers to manage searches, results, and analytics with access for a minimum of three OWF staff members and the ability to export results to be shared broadly within DOI to an unlimited number of staff. The contractor will provide unlimited technical support, including assistance with account set-up and search creation as needed.
