About this file

This Categorical Exclusion Documentation Form (CE Form) details a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for hazard tree identification and removal by the National Park Service at Prince William Forest Park. The project aims to establish procedures for identifying and removing trees with structural defects that could potentially cause injury to people or property, covering two locations in Prince William and Stafford Counties, Virginia. The document indicates the project will improve safety for park visitors and employees, and has been categorically excluded from further NEPA analysis, with no extraordinary circumstances identified that would prevent its implementation. The CE Form was prepared on 06/23/2020 and signed by Superintendent Tanya Gossett, citing routine maintenance and repairs to non-historic grounds and trails as the basis for the categorical exclusion.
